OSI Models

OSI Models

Open System Interconnection model (OSI) is well defined hierarchical architecture of seven communication layer. Every layer defined a different action or different work. It has a two block

  • Application Block
  • Network Block

First three layer represent the application block like  Application layer, Presentation layer, Session layer

And last four layer represent the network block like Transport layer, Network layer, Data link layer, Physical layer..

  1. Application Layer - In Application layer it provides services and utility that enable graphically interface or character working in application layer.
  2. Presentation Layer - Its provides compression or decompression of data,  cryption or decryption of data , data file format, download or upload data or files.
  3. Session Layer - It provides the make the path between source to destination in session layer. it is also called a virtual layer.
  4. Transport Layer - In this layer data transfer between source to destination used registered path or unregistered path.
  5. Network Layer -  It is the most critical layer in OSI model. Network layer implementing protocols and procedures to route the data efficiently from source to destination.
  6. Data Link Layer - In data link layer its make MAC address between source to destination
  7. Physical Layer - In physical layer data transmitted in binary form, bits form, digital form, or analog form
